London, ON -- The Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA) has set the dates for the 17th International Federation of Health Information Management Association (IFHIMA) Congress for May 11 – 15, 2013 in Montreal. The Congress, which was originally scheduled for September 2013, coincided with two other major HI/HIM International/National Conferences necessitating the date change.

CHIMA recently learned they had won the bid for the Congress, which will attract Health Information Management professionals and key stakeholders from the international and national community. “We have a considerable amount of planning and preparation ahead of us, and CHIMA is already making strides to assemble a team to assist with the 2013 planning process”, said Gail Crook, CEO and Registrar.

“Montréal Tourism and The Palais de Congrès representatives will be an integral part of our planning process, and we are confident that with their support, the 2013 Congress will be highly successful,” added Val Alston, Chair of the Board of Directors.

CHIMA represents a membership of more than 4,500 professionals in Health Information Management (HIM) and is the only source of credentialed HIM professionals in Canada.

L’Association Canadienne des Professionnels en Gestion de l’Information sur la Santé (ACPGIS)

London, On – L’Association Canadienne des Professionnels en Gestion de l’Information sur la Santé (ACPGIS) a déterminé les dates pour la tenue du 17ième congrès de la Fédération Internationale des Associations en Gestion de l’Information sur la Santé (FIAGIS), soit du 11 au 15 Mai 2013 à Montréal. Le Congrès qui était à l’origine prévu pour Septembre 2013, coïncidait avec deux autres conférences majeures Internationales/Nationales de GI/GIS, nécessitant forcément un changement de dates.

ACPGIS (CHIMA) a récemment appris qu’elle avait remporté la candidature pour le Congrès qui attirera des professionnels en gestion de l’information sur la santé et autres principaux intéressés du milieu de la santé, provenant de la communauté internationale et nationale.  « Nous avons devant nous une somme considérable de planification et préparation, et l’ACPGIS (CHIMA) fait déjà des pas de géant pour former une équipe qui assistera dans la démarche de planification pour 2013 », a mentionné Gail Crook, Directrice générale et Registraire.

“Des représentants de Tourisme Montréal et du Palais des Congrès seront parties prenantes de notre démarche de planification et nous sommes confiants qu’avec leur support, le Congrès de 2013 sera une grande réussite», a ajouté Val Alston, Présidente du conseil d’administration de l’ACPGIS (CHIMA).

L’ACPGIS (CHIMA) représente plus de 4 500 professionnels en gestion de l’information sur la santé et est l’unique source de professionnels de GIS au Canada.
