In June 2015, the College, with the support of our award sponsors, will bestow 15 prestigious national healthcare awards in Charlottetown, PEI. These awards are presented to individuals, teams and organizations in the healthcare community that have demonstrated exceptional leadership, and who have made significant contributions in areas such as: mentorship; innovation; nursing; healthcare safety; quality; environmental stewardship; diversity; and mental health and addictions.

Mr. Ron Lindstrom, PhD, FCCHL, would like to welcome Ms. Alexandra Harris, RN, MN/MHSc, CHE to the Editorial Board. Alexandra (Alex) is a PhD student at the University of Toronto’s Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing, a trainee with the Nursing Health Services Research Unit and a Junior Fellow at Massey College.

For her doctoral work, she is exploring nursing intellectual capital (knowledge assets) and its contributions to hospital performance. Alex holds a combined Master of Nursing/Master of Health Administration and is Executive Director of Emerging Health Leaders Toronto.

The College would like to congratulate Dan Florizone on his recent appointment as President and Chief Executive Officer of Saskatoon Regional Health Authority.

According to the Saskatoon Regional Health Authority (November 2014):

Saskatoon Regional Health Authority (SRHA) is pleased to announce the hiring of Dan Florizone as Saskatoon Health Region’s new President and CEO. Currently serving as Saskatchewan’s Deputy Education Minister and Deputy Minister Responsible for Lean, Florizone will assume his new position on January 5, 2015.
