This past fall, Canada Health Infoway (Infoway) announced the ImagineNation Outcomes Challenge (Outcomes Challenge). The team-based Outcomes Challenge seeks to accelerate the use and spread of innovative solutions in health care information and communication technologies (ICT) in four key areas with the potential to improve health care quality and the patient experience in Canada.  Infoway is challenging Canadians to demonstrate the use and growth of these e-solutions in their practices or organizations.

We are pleased to announce that Katherine Chubbs, CHE, has accepted to represent the College on the 2013 Nursing Leadership Conference Planning Committee. Katherine holds a Masters of Health Studies and a Bachelor in Nursing from the Athabasca University. She is presently the Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at Eastern Health in Newfoundland and Labrador.

The Canadian Public Health Association releases new position statements on two important public health issues: tobacco use and alcohol

The health and social impacts of both the use of tobacco and alcohol and the policies related to them are substantial, in terms of costs to the health care system, costs to individuals and families, and the costs to society. They are also largely preventable.

The Community for Excellence in Health Governance (CEHG) is proud to announce the sponsorship by the Directors College of its newly launched Governance Development Program. Our history: Local College chapters emerging / Notre histoire : Création de chapitres du Collège

The formation of local chapters of the College has been gaining momentum. The chapter in southern Alberta has recently developed and is centered in Calgary. The chapter is chaired by Claude Halpin of the Calgary auxiliary Hospitals and Nursing Homes. The members have already organized a successful educational program and are planning spring programs on such topics as management in the 80’s and managerial public relations.
