Led by prestigious Canadian and International faculty and practice leaders, the EXTRA program gives participants the skills and knowledge to become change agents in healthcare improvement. It offers unique opportunities for participants to conduct evidence-informed improvement projects in their organizations, with the goal of enhancing patient outcomes, quality of care and cost-effectiveness.

Board elections will be required in 2014 for the provinces of Alberta, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Quebec, Prince Edward Island and Northwest Territories/Nunavut/Yukon. All certified members from these provinces are eligible to nominate candidates, for their province, to stand for election to the Board of Directors for the 2014 to 2017 term.

As mentioned previously, the College has adopted a new Association Management System platform for its database and web site. Integrated in this custom platform are a multilingual membership database, a mass e-mail tool, and a web site content management system. Online functionality includes: membership management, event management, e-mentorship, committee management, and other related processes.

Corporate social responsibility and hospitals: US theory, Japanese experiences, and lessons for other countries

This paper examines the role that corporate social responsibility can play in advancing hospital management. Corporate social responsibility is the integration of social and environmental concerns within business operations. The authors discuss how corporate social responsibility can help hospitals and provide suggestions to hospitals in deciding which corporate social responsibility initiatives to pursue.
