The LEAD SELF Domain: Who is Leading in Personal Planning? / Le domaine ÊTRE SON PROPRE LEADER : Qui dirige au niveau de la planification personnelle?

 (Le texte français suit.)

You do not have to be employed in the health sector to know that these are challenging times for anyone who works in this sector. Its leaders, in particular, are under intense pressure to be innovative, efficient, accountable and responsive. Constant change, pressure on resources and downsizing, all of these realities put intense pressure on individuals and there is certainly evidence to suggest that this pressure is taking its toll. A recent study by Duxbury, Higgins and Lyons found that “health care workers are among the most stressed, overwhelmed and burned out workers in the country”. A CIHI report notes that absenteeism is one and a half times higher in the health care sector than in all other occupations.

Fees will be adjusted every two years under this direction taking into account the CPI increase for the prior two calendar years. For 2012, fees will be increasing by 3.7%.
