The College wishes to acknowledge the contribution of Dr. Murray Nixon, who passed away in Halifax on November 24, 2012, at the age of 77, to our organization and to the field of health leadership. Murray was an Associate Professor of the Faculty of Medicine at Dalhousie University. At the time of his retirement in 2011, he worked in the Department of Family Medicine and Department of Medicine in Geriatrics. He was a well-known physician nationally and internationally for his work in home care. Murray worked as a peer reviewer for the journal of the Canadian College of Health Leaders for 10 years, and was Past Chair of Accreditation Canada and the Canadian Home Care Association. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Dorothy, four children and five grandchildren.

Le Collège désire souligner la contribution du Dr Murray Nixon, décédé à Halifax le 24 novembre 2012 à l’âge de 77 ans, à notre organisation et au domaine du leadership en santé. Le Dr Murray était professeur agrégé à la Faculté de médecine de l’Université Dalhousie. Au moment de sa retraite en 2011, il travaillait aux départements de médecine familiale et de gériatrie. Il était un médecin bien connu au Canada et à l’étranger pour son travail en soins à domicile. Le Dr Murray a été un membre du comité de lecture de la revue du Collège canadien des leaders en santé pendant 10 ans et a été président d’Agrément Canada et de l’Association canadienne des soins et services à domicile. Il laisse dans le deuil Dorothy, son épouse aimante depuis 53 ans, ainsi que quatre enfants et cinq petits-enfants.
