Cathy Becker

The College regrets to announce the passing of Catherine Helen Becker (Cathy) at home, with her family on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at the age of 56 years, after a lengthy illness. She leaves behind her husband David and daughters Jennifer and Sandi.


Cathy was the College’s Corporate Secretary between 2006 and 2010, providing support to the College’s President and CEO and Board of Directors.  She will be remembered for her active role in College Board Meetings and Annual General Meetings.


Outside of work, Cathy enjoyed an active social life with friends and family. Her positive outlook and personal drive throughout her illness have been an inspiration to her colleagues.

A memorial service was held Tuesday October 11 at the McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home in Ottawa. Her full obituary can be viewed on the Ottawa Citizen website.

Le Collège a le regret d’annoncer le décès de Catherine Helen Becker (Cathy) survenu chez elle, avec sa famille, le mardi 4 octobre 2011 à l’âge de 56 ans après une longue maladie. Elle laisse dans le deuil son époux David et ses filles Jennifer et Sandi.

Cathy a été la secrétaire générale du Collège entre 2006 et 2010. Elle assurait un soutien au président-directeur général et au Conseil d’administration du Collège. On se souviendra d’elle à cause du rôle actif qu’elle a joué lors des réunions du Conseil d’administration et des assemblées générales annuelles du Collège.

À l’extérieur du travail, Cathy menait une vie sociale active avec ses amis et sa famille. Son attitude positive et le dynamisme dont elle a fait preuve tout au long de sa maladie ont été une inspiration pour ses collègues.

Un service commémoratif a eu lieu le mardi 11 octobre au salon funéraire McEvoy-Shields à Ottawa. On peut lire son article nécrologique complet sur le site Web de l’Ottawa Citizen.
