According to the CHA / ACAHO news release (February 2014):
The newly-merged organizations of the Canadian Healthcare Association and the Association of Canadian Academic Healthcare Organizations (CHA/ACAHO) are pleased to announce that Bill Tholl has been appointed President and CEO, effective March 17, 2014. He will build and lead an organization that will be the national voice and champion of innovative health organizations across the continuum of care.
“We are delighted to welcome Bill as President and CEO,” said Chris Power and Alice Downing, Transitional Board Co-Chairs. “Highly regarded by colleagues, Bill’s extensive experience in health and academic health research combined with his creative vision will help shape the future of our newly-merged organization. The Transitional Board of Directors looks forward to Bill’s leadership in moving the organization ahead.”
“CHA and ACAHO have been dedicated to health system excellence and can count many achievements over their long histories,” said Bill Tholl. “Together, the collective strength within the new merged organization will have a strong influence on the future of health care in Canada. I am honoured to lead this new organization as it embarks on innovative and exciting directions.”

Bill joined the College in 2010, and as the Founding Executive Director of the Canadian Health Leadership Network (CHLNet), a College partner, has been instrumental in bringing the LEADS in a Caring Environment Capabilities Framework to organizations across Canada.
“The College has enjoyed a close working relationship with Bill in his role as Executive Director of CHLNet and our joint work in supporting the use of LEADS nationally and developing the LEADS Collaborative,” said Ray Racette, President and CEO of the College. “We congratulate Bill on being selected for the unique opportunity of building a new association and look forward to working with him in this new capacity.”

L’Association canadienne des soins de santé et l’Association canadienne des institutions de santé universitaires récemment fusionnées (ACS/ACISU) ont le plaisir d’annoncer la nomination de Bill Tholl au poste de président et chef de la direction. Il entrera en fonction le 17 mars 2014 pour bâtir et diriger une organisation qui sera le porte-parole national et le champion des organisations de santé innovatrices dans tout le continuum de soins.
« Nous sommes ravies d’accueillir Bill Tholl à titre de président et chef de la direction », ont déclaré Chris Power et Alice Downing, coprésidentes du conseil de transition. « Grandement reconnue par ses collègues, la vaste expérience de M. Tholl en santé et en recherche universitaire en santé, jumelée à sa vision créative, contribuera à façonner l’avenir de l’organisation issue de la fusion. Le conseil d’administration transitoire se réjouit à l’idée de voir progresser l’organisation sous le leadership de M. Tholl. »

Bill est devenu membre du Collège en 2010 et, à titre de directeur général fondateur du Réseau canadien pour le leadership en santé (RCLS), un partenaire du Collège, a grandement contribué à faire connaître le Cadre national des capacités de leadership en santé LEADS aux organisations dans toutes les régions du pays.
« Le Collège a entretenu une relation de travail étroite avec Bill dans son rôle de président exécutif du RCLS, ainsi que dans le cadre de nos efforts communs pour soutenir l’utilisation du Cadre LEADS partout au pays et pour établir le Collectif LEADS, a dit Ray Racette, président-directeur général du Collège. Nous félicitons Bill d’avoir été choisi pour ce poste qui lui donnera l’occasion unique de bâtir une nouvelle organisation, et nous avons hâte de travailler avec lui dans cette nouvelle fonction. »
