CCHL announces 2017 National Awards recipients / Le CCLS annonce les lauréats des prix nationaux de 2017

The Canadian College of Health Leaders and the sponsors of the National Awards Program are proud to honour the individuals, teams and organizations that are making a difference across the healthcare system. This year’s recipients are indeed the pride of our profession.

We encourage you to visit the Leading Practices Library, which features the winning submissions in full. For an overview of this year’s recipients, download the Leading Practices Booklet.

Award recipients were honoured on Sunday, June 11, 2017, at the Honouring Health Leadership event, in Vancouver, BC. The 3M Health Care Quality Team Awards and the Robert Wood Johnson Awards were presented during the National Health Leadership Conference on June 12 & 13, 2017.

Great news to those who may have missed the nomination deadline.  We have extended the submission deadline for many of our awards, and are still accepting nominations for many others. Please refer to the table below for more details. 

We recognize how busy our members are with work priorities. However, we ask you to consider nominating a worthy initiative, individual or team for a College awards. Don’t miss this opportunity to showcase the talent, leadership and innovative practices within your organization, chapter or region.

National Awards Program Call for Nominations – Stay tuned!


The College will be inviting nominations for the 2017 National Awards Program shortly. This will be a great opportunity to recognize and promote the outstanding leaders and programs in your organization. Over the next few issues of Communiqué we will be profiling the various awards and calling for your nominations. Keep an eye on your inbox! 

Award recipients will receive paid travel and accommodations and a complimentary registration to attend the Honouring Health Leadership awards evening and a complimentary registration to the National Health Leadership Conference. All events are being held in Vancouver, British Columbia from June 11 - 13, 2017. Please see below for a list of the College's awards and their corresponding deadline dates, and stay tuned for the award nomination details

In June 2016, the College, with the support of our award sponsors, will bestow 15 prestigious national healthcare awards in Ottawa, Ontario. These awards are presented to individuals, teams and organizations in the healthcare community that have demonstrated exceptional leadership, and who have made significant contributions in areas such as: mentorship; innovation; nursing; healthcare safety; quality; environmental stewardship; diversity; and mental health and addictions.

These awards provide an opportunity to acknowledge those who play a major role in the advancement and betterment of our health systems.

Award presentations will be held during the College’s Honouring Health Leadership event (formerly the National Awards Gala), Annual General Meeting and at the National Health Leadership Conference. Award recipients will receive paid travel and accommodations and a complimentary registration to attend the National Health Leadership Conference. All events are being held in Ottawa, Ontario from June 5 - 7, 2016.

The deadline to submit a nomination for the following awards is February 1, 2016.

OTTAWA, ON – The Canadian College of Health Leaders (the College) was honoured to present its awards at the 2015 National Awards Gala, held at the PEI Convention Centre, in Charlottetown, PE on Sunday June 14, 2015.

Additional awards will be presented during the National Health Leadership Conference held at the PEI Convention Centre, PE, on Monday and Tuesday, June 15 and 16, 2015.

For almost two decades, the College has celebrated leadership and recognized success of individuals, teams and organizations who have demonstrated leadership qualities, commitment, integrity and development of leading practices across the health industry.
