The College mourns the passing of Kevin J. Leonard, a regular supporter of College activities and contributor to Healthcare Management Forum. Mr. Leonard, from the Department of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto, was an authority on electronic health records and what he called “consumers” with chronic conditions. This 5 day workshop, hosted by Saint Elizabeth Health Care, is customized for Canadian Healthcare and builds capability in healthcare leaders and executives in the Phillips ROI Methodology, to prove the value, impact and ROI in healthcare programs and improvement initiatives.

New Required Organizational Practices (ROPs) from Accreditation Canada / Les nouvelles pratiques organisationnelles requises (POR) d’Agrément Canada

Accreditation Canada has developed two new Required Organizational Practices (ROPs) for the Leadership and Governance standards as part of the regular cycle of revisions to maintain the currency and relevance of the standards:

• Accountability for Quality will be added to the Governance standards.
• Preventing Emergency Department Overcrowding will be added to the Leadership standards.
