The College’s 2014 National Awards Gala, a hallmark of excellence in healthcare and professionalism, will be held in Banff, Alberta on Sunday, June 1, 2014. We invite you to join our evening's emcee, Tara Slone, host of Breakfast Television Calgary, for a glamorous evening of celebration.

Delegates will be transported back to the golden age of travel, when globetrotters traversed our great nation in luxurious, steam powered locomotives. Attendees will enjoy the sights and sounds of old-time train travel making our virtual train trip the perfect setting to recognize the top health systems performers from across Canada.

First strategic alliance developed with a healthcare employer / Établissement d’une première alliance stratégique avec un employeur du secteur de la santé

The College is pleased to announce that it recently established a strategic alliance with its first healthcare employer, the North East Community Care Access Centre (NE CCAC). Under this agreement the Certified Health Executive (CHE) program, the only certification program for health leaders in Canada, has been recognized, by the NE CCAC as the preferred designation of choice for its health leaders.

“I am very pleased and honoured to have pioneered this initiative with the College, and I look forward to increasing the number of leaders who hold the CHE designation within our organization.” states Richard Joly, Chief Executive Officer of the NE CCAC, and chair of the College’s NEON Lights Chapter.

The College would like to congratulate Bill Tholl on his recent appointment as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the newly-merged organizations of the Canadian Healthcare Association (CHA) and the Canadian Academic Healthcare Organizations (ACAHO), partners of the College.

According to the CHA / ACAHO news release (February 2014):

The newly-merged organizations of the Canadian Healthcare Association and the Association of Canadian Academic Healthcare Organizations (CHA/ACAHO) are pleased to announce that Bill Tholl has been appointed President and CEO, effective March 17, 2014. He will build and lead an organization that will be the national voice and champion of innovative health organizations across the continuum of care.

Hosted by the College’s Midnight Sun Chapter (YT/NT/NU), this one hour session features Ray Racette, MHA, CHE, President and Chief Executive Officer of the College.

Mr. Racette has been an active member of the College since 1977, receiving his CHE designation in 1984. He has served on the Board of Directors, the Manitoba and Midnight Sun Chapter Executives and in various committees. In 2005 he was awarded the Leadership Recognition Award from the Manitoba chapter.
